When web users in China are wanting to chat with AI just for enjoyable, they’re unlikely to turn to popular voice like Apple’s Siri or Xiaomi’s Xiao AI. Instead, China’s “enjoyable” AI of choice actually originates from Microsoft, and it will soon be an independent company.

The process will be finished in the next couple of months, the company included. Chinese news site Caixin reported that the Covid-19 pandemic and stress between the US and China accelerated the spin-off process.
