Job Description

Project – RTD Bihar (Skill India)

A Responsibilities –

1. Candidate Orientation and Guidance:

  • Orientation Sessions: Conduct orientation sessions for new candidates to introduce them to the RTD Bihar Project, including its objectives, benefits, and the available training programs.
  • Career Guidance: Provide personalized career guidance based on the candidate’s interests, strengths, and career aspirations, helping them choose the most suitable training program.
  • Program Information: Offer detailed information about the various courses, including the curriculum, duration, job prospects, and potential career paths.

2. Individual Counseling:

  • One-on-One Sessions: Conduct regular one-on-one counseling sessions with candidates to discuss their progress, address concerns, and provide emotional support.
  • Goal Setting: Assist candidates in setting realistic short-term and long-term career goals and create action plans to achieve them.
  • Personalized Support: Provide tailored advice and support to candidates facing academic, personal, or emotional challenges that may affect their training or career goals.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Progress Tracking: Monitor the academic and personal progress of candidates, identifying those who may need additional support or intervention.
  • Assessment Support: Help candidates prepare for assessments and exams, offering strategies to improve their performance.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from candidates about their training experience and use it to improve counseling services and training programs.

4. Soft Skills and Behavioral Training:

  • Skill Development: Conduct workshops and training sessions on essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Provide guidance on workplace behavior, ethics, and professionalism to prepare candidates for their future roles in the workforce.
  • Confidence Building: Work on building candidates’ self-esteem and confidence, especially those from vulnerable or underprivileged backgrounds.

5. Addressing Psychosocial Issues:

  • Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to candidates dealing with personal or family issues that may impact their training or career decisions.
  • Stress Management: Teach candidates effective stress management techniques to help them cope with the pressures of training and future work environments.
  • Conflict Resolution: Assist candidates in resolving conflicts with peers, trainers, or family members, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

6. Placement and Career Support:

  • Job Search Assistance: Guide candidates in their job search, helping them with resume writing, interview preparation, and job application processes.
  • Placement Coordination: Collaborate with the placement team to ensure that candidates are matched with suitable job opportunities based on their skills and interests.
  • Post-Placement Support: Provide continued support to candidates even after they are placed in jobs, helping them adjust to the work environment and addressing any issues that arise.

7. Community and Family Engagement:

  • Family Counseling: Engage with the families of candidates, particularly those from conservative or disadvantaged backgrounds, to gain their support for the candidate’s education and career aspirations.
  • Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about the RTD Bihar Project and encourage more candidates to enroll in the training programs.
  • Parental Involvement: Involve parents or guardians in the counseling process, particularly for younger candidates, to ensure they are aligned with the candidate’s career goals.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of all counseling sessions, candidate progress, and any interventions made, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
  • Regular Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on counseling activities, candidate progress, and outcomes to the project management team.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze counseling data to identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement in the counseling process.

9. Collaboration with Trainers and Staff:

  • Team Coordination: Work closely with trainers, placement officers, and other staff to ensure a coordinated approach to candidate support.
  • Candidate Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and concerns of candidates within the training center, ensuring that their voices are heard and addressed.
  • Staff Training: Provide training to staff on basic counseling techniques and how to identify candidates who may need additional support.

10. Ensuring Candidate Well-Being:

  • Well-Being Initiatives: Implement well-being initiatives such as wellness workshops, mindfulness sessions, and recreational activities to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle among candidates.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Raise awareness about mental health issues and provide resources for candidates who may need professional mental health support.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to any crisis situations involving candidates, such as severe stress, family emergencies, or health issues, ensuring they receive the necessary support.

11. Compliance and Ethical Standards:

  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all personal information shared by candidates during counseling sessions.
  • Ethical Conduct: Adhere to ethical standards in all counseling practices, ensuring that candidates are treated with respect, dignity, and fairness.
  • Compliance with Project Guidelines: Ensure that all counseling activities are in line with the guidelines and objectives of the RTD Bihar Project.

12. Continuous Improvement:

  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest counseling techniques, tools, and best practices.
