Location: Ranchi, Gumla & Godda

Roles and Responsibilities of a GDA Trainer:

1. Training Delivery:

  • Conduct both theoretical and practical sessions on the responsibilities of a General Duty Assistant, including:
    • Patient care basics (bathing, feeding, and grooming).
    • Monitoring vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
    • Assisting nurses and doctors during medical procedures.
    • Infection prevention and control practices.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods such as presentations, role-plays, case studies, and hands-on demonstrations.

2. Curriculum Implementation:

  • Deliver training as per the guidelines and curriculum provided under DDUKK, aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
  • Cover all essential modules, such as communication skills, workplace ethics, emergency response, and first aid.

3. Skill Development:

  • Train candidates on professional behavior, teamwork, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Ensure they develop empathy, patience, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Provide knowledge of medical equipment handling and maintenance.

4. Practical Training and Assessments:

  • Organize practical training in simulated healthcare environments to familiarize candidates with real-life scenarios.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate candidates’ understanding and performance.
  • Provide feedback to improve their skills and confidence.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain records of candidates’ attendance, progress, and performance.
  • Submit periodic training reports to project managers or training center coordinators.
  • Ensure compliance with all documentation requirements under DDUKK guidelines.

6. Counseling and Guidance:

  • Act as a mentor to trainees, addressing their concerns and motivating them to excel in the healthcare profession.
  • Counsel trainees on career opportunities, workplace challenges, and the importance of continuous learning.

7. Industry Exposure:

  • Arrange hospital visits, internships, or on-the-job training for candidates to gain hands-on experience in real healthcare settings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare facilities to provide placement opportunities for trained candidates.

8. Ensuring Quality Standards:

  • Ensure training sessions meet the quality benchmarks set by DDUKK.
  • Continuously upgrade the training methods and materials to match industry requirements and advancements in healthcare.

9. Promoting Gender Sensitivity:

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive training environment, especially encouraging female candidates to overcome workplace challenges in the healthcare sector.

10. Safety and Emergency Preparedness:

  • Train candidates in safety protocols and emergency procedures, such as CPR, fire evacuation, and disaster response.
  • Educate them on handling infectious diseases and maintaining personal safety.

Key Skills Required for a GDA Trainer:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare practices and procedures.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and empathy to mentor candidates from rural or underprivileged backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using training tools and conducting practical demonstrations.
