Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Housekeeping Staff

  • Assign daily cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff and monitor their performance.

  • Conduct daily briefings and provide instructions on cleaning procedures and safety measures.

  • Ensure staff adhere to company policies and hygiene standards.

2. Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene Standards

  • Inspect rooms, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas to ensure cleanliness.

  • Check that all cleaning materials and tools are properly used and maintained.

  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene protocols, especially in sensitive areas like hospitals and hotels.

3. Inventory and Stock Management

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and toiletries.

  • Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary supplies.

  • Prevent wastage and ensure cost-effective use of cleaning materials.

4. Training and Development

  • Train housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety protocols.

  • Conduct workshops on customer service skills and time management.

  • Ensure staff understand and follow environmental sustainability practices.

5. Handling Guest Requests and Complaints

  • Respond to guest concerns regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.

  • Address complaints related to room cleanliness, laundry services, or other housekeeping issues.

  • Ensure guest rooms and common areas meet high standards of hospitality.

6. Ensuring Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce proper handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.

  • Implement fire safety measures and emergency evacuation protocols.

  • Ensure housekeeping operations comply with workplace safety regulations.

7. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain daily housekeeping reports and logs.

  • Report any maintenance issues (damaged furniture, broken fixtures, plumbing problems, etc.) to the maintenance team.

  • Keep track of lost-and-found items and ensure their proper handling.
