Responsibilities of a Mobilizer in DDU-GKY Project:
1. Community Outreach and Awareness:
- Conduct awareness campaigns in rural areas to inform youth and their families about the benefits of the DDU-GKY project.
- Organize village meetings, door-to-door visits, and other outreach activities to mobilize the target population.
- Develop relationships with local community leaders, panchayat members, and influencers to gain community support.
2. Identification of Candidates:
- Identify eligible candidates from rural households based on the criteria set by the DDU-GKY project (such as age, educational qualification, and socio-economic background).
- Ensure that the selection process is inclusive, reaching marginalized and underprivileged sections of the community.
3. Counseling and Guidance:
- Provide career counseling to potential candidates and their families, explaining the importance of skill development and the opportunities it can create for employment.
- Clarify any doubts or concerns regarding the training programs, placements, and the benefits of participating in the DDU-GKY project.
4. Enrolment of Candidates:
- Facilitate the registration and enrollment process for selected candidates by assisting with the necessary documentation (such as identification, qualification, and residence proof).
- Ensure that candidates meet all eligibility criteria and complete the required paperwork in accordance with DDU-GKY guidelines.
5. Pre-Training Engagement:
- Prepare candidates for the training by providing them with basic information about the course, the training location, and the structure of the program.
- Motivate and encourage the enrolled candidates to attend the training regularly and commit to completing the program.
6. Tracking and Follow-up:
- Maintain contact with enrolled candidates throughout the training program, addressing any concerns or challenges they may face (e.g., transportation, family support).
- Ensure regular attendance and follow-up with candidates who drop out or miss training sessions, motivating them to continue.
7. Building Local Partnerships:
- Collaborate with local institutions, schools, NGOs, and self-help groups to create a broader awareness network for mobilizing candidates.
- Leverage local government schemes and resources to support the mobilization efforts.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities, candidate details, enrollment figures, and follow-up actions.
- Prepare regular reports on mobilization efforts, challenges faced, and the outcomes achieved, submitting them to the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) and other stakeholders.
9. Feedback Collection:
- Gather feedback from candidates and the community regarding the training programs and overall project.
- Communicate this feedback to the PIA or management to improve the training and mobilization processes.
Requirements for a Mobilizer in DDU-GKY Project:
1. Educational Qualification:
- A minimum qualification of high school (10th or 12th standard) is often required. A diploma or degree in social work, rural development, or a related field may be preferred.
- Basic computer literacy (data entry, Microsoft Office) is often required for reporting purposes.
2. Relevant Experience:
- Prior experience in community outreach, social work, or working with rural development projects is preferred.
- Experience in mobilizing candidates for government schemes or vocational training programs is an added advantage.
3. Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal communication skills in local languages and the ability to connect with rural communities.
- The ability to counsel and motivate youth and their families to join the skill development program.
4. Interpersonal Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills for building rapport with community leaders, youth, and other stakeholders.
- The ability to work effectively in rural environments, often with limited resources and logistical challenges.
5. Organizational Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to plan and execute mobilization drives, maintain records, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, coordinating with other staff members and agencies.
6. Travel Flexibility:
- The willingness and ability to travel extensively in rural areas for outreach activities, sometimes covering multiple villages or districts.
- The mobilizer may also need to facilitate transportation for candidates to attend training centers.
7. Cultural Sensitivity:
- An understanding of local customs, cultures, and traditions, as well as the ability to adapt outreach strategies to be culturally sensitive and effective.
- The ability to build trust and credibility within the community.
