  • Managing OT Operations:
  • Supervise and manage the smooth running of the operating theatre.
  • Ensure all required equipment and supplies are available and functional.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgeries, ensuring that all personnel and resources are available as needed.
  • Oversee the arrangement and sterilization of surgical instruments.
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise and manage OT nursing staff, including OT nurses, surgical technologists, and other support staff.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide feedback and training as required.
  • Ensure the surgical team follows all safety protocols and hygiene standards.
  • Surgical Procedure Coordination:
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that surgeries are carried out efficiently.
  • Ensure proper preparation of the patient and surgical area before procedures.
  • Assist with the handling and management of surgical instruments during operations.
  • Patient Safety and Care:
  • Ensure patient safety by overseeing the sterilization of equipment and maintaining infection control protocols.
  • Monitor the patient’s status before, during, and after the procedure to ensure they are prepared and comfortable.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of the procedure and patient information.
  • Inventory and Equipment Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of OT supplies, ensuring that there is always an adequate stock of required materials.
  • Work with the procurement department to replenish inventory and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance and calibration of medical equipment.
  • Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure that the operating theatre complies with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
  • Implement and enforce infection control measures and surgical safety protocols.
  • Participate in audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Facilitate communication between surgical teams, hospital administration, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with the anesthesia team and ensure all necessary equipment is in place for anesthesia.
  • Address any issues or concerns that arise during the procedure and resolve them promptly.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train new staff members on operating theatre procedures and protocols.
  • Keep up to date with the latest surgical technologies and techniques.
  • Encourage continuous learning and skill enhancement within the team.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
  • Ensure that all emergency protocols are in place for handling any unforeseen situations or complications during surgeries.
  • Oversee the handling and management of emergency supplies and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • A nursing degree (BSc Nursing, GNM) or medical background (MBBS, MD) is often required.
  • Specialized training or certification in OT management or surgical nursing.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience working in an operating theatre or surgical unit, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 – ₹37,758.43 per month
