Responsibilities –

1. Training Delivery:

  • Deliver training as per the curriculum designed for retail sales associates, covering topics such as customer service, sales techniques, inventory management, and store operations.
  • Ensure the participants understand the course content and develop practical skills relevant to the retail industry.
  • Use interactive teaching methods like role-playing, group discussions, and case studies to engage trainees effectively.

2. Content Customization and Adaptation:

  • Customize and adapt training materials to suit the needs of the rural candidates while keeping the course aligned with industry standards.
  • Ensure that the content addresses both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

3. Practical Demonstrations and Simulations:

  • Provide hands-on training through mock retail setups, where trainees practice customer interaction, handling Point of Sale (POS) systems, and managing product displays.
  • Organize field visits or practical sessions in collaboration with retail stores to give real-world experience to the participants.

4. Assessing and Evaluating Trainees:

  • Regularly assess the trainees through written tests, presentations, and practical evaluations.
  • Provide feedback to improve their performance and guide them on areas of improvement.
  • Maintain records of trainee performance and submit assessment reports as per DDU-GKY guidelines.

5. Monitoring and Mentoring:

  • Act as a mentor to guide and motivate the trainees, particularly in building confidence and communication skills, which are crucial for retail roles.
  • Offer career advice and support the candidates in transitioning into the retail job market.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain proper documentation of attendance, training records, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with DDU-GKY’s reporting standards and submit the necessary reports to the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) and funding partners.

7. Industry Alignment:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and practices in the retail industry to ensure that training is current and relevant.
  • Liaise with industry partners to understand their requirements and help trainees get placement opportunities.

8. Support in Placements:

  • Coordinate with placement officers and industry partners to help place trained candidates in retail companies.
  • Prepare trainees for interviews by conducting mock interviews and resume-building sessions.
