Roles and Responsibilities of a Retail Trainer in PMKK Project:

1. Training Delivery

  • Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions as per the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Sector Skill Council (SSC) guidelines.

  • Use a mix of lectures, case studies, role-plays, and hands-on demonstrations to enhance learning.

  • Ensure that students understand retail industry concepts, customer service, sales techniques, inventory management, and billing processes.

2. Curriculum Implementation

  • Follow the approved curriculum and training modules for the retail sector.

  • Customize training content as per industry trends and local requirements.

  • Ensure course materials are up-to-date and aligned with PMKK standards.

3. Student Engagement and Development

  • Guide and mentor trainees to enhance their skills, confidence, and employability.

  • Conduct mock interviews, role-plays, and real-life retail scenarios to improve practical knowledge.

  • Address student queries and provide support in their learning journey.

4. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Conduct periodic assessments, quizzes, and tests to gauge student progress.

  • Evaluate student performance based on attendance, participation, and assessment scores.

  • Provide feedback and support students in improving their weak areas.

5. Industry and Placement Coordination

  • Collaborate with retail companies and local businesses for exposure visits, guest lectures, and internships.

  • Support students in job placements by connecting them with employers.

  • Guide students on resume building, interview preparation, and workplace ethics.

6. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain attendance records, assessment scores, and training completion reports.

  • Submit progress reports and other necessary documentation to PMKK management.

  • Ensure all training activities comply with PMKK and NSDC guidelines.

7. Maintaining Training Infrastructure

  • Ensure proper setup of the training room, retail lab, and necessary equipment.

  • Manage training aids, including projectors, computers, and mock retail setups.

8. Soft Skills and Personality Development

  • Train students in communication skills, customer handling, grooming, and workplace ethics.

  • Focus on team management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of the retail industry.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate learners.

  • Good assessment and evaluation skills.

  • Familiarity with NSDC and PMKK training procedures.
