Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Training Delivery & Curriculum Implementation
- Conduct theoretical and practical training as per the NSQF and BSDM syllabus.
- Teach machine handling, fabric cutting, pattern making, and stitching techniques.
- Demonstrate different types of sewing machines (single-needle, overlock, flatlock, etc.).
- Ensure students understand garment construction, fabric types, and finishing techniques.
2. Hands-on Practical Skill Development
- Provide live demonstrations on stitching, hemming, buttonholing, and embroidery.
- Train students on operating industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
- Guide students on speed control, thread tension adjustment, and machine maintenance.
- Assign practical sewing projects to develop precision and efficiency.
3. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance Training
- Educate students on workplace safety measures and industrial hygiene.
- Ensure proper use of protective gear and safe handling of sewing machines.
- Train students on fire safety, emergency procedures, and first-aid awareness.
4. Student Assessment & Performance Evaluation
- Conduct regular practical tests, live projects, and skill assessments.
- Provide individual feedback and help students improve their sewing techniques.
- Evaluate students on stitching accuracy, speed, and finishing quality.
5. Industry Collaboration & Practical Exposure
- Organize industrial visits to garment factories and textile units.
- Conduct guest lectures by industry experts and professional tailors.
- Provide internship opportunities and on-the-job training (OJT) for real-world experience.
6. Soft Skills & Workplace Readiness Training
- Teach students workplace ethics, teamwork, and time management.
- Conduct sessions on customer interaction, quality control, and productivity enhancement.
- Train students on basic business skills for setting up their own tailoring business.
7. Placement Readiness & Career Guidance
- Prepare students for job roles in garment factories, boutiques, and self-employment.
- Conduct mock interviews, resume writing, and job search training.
- Guide students on entrepreneurship opportunities in tailoring and garment production.
8. Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain attendance records, training reports, and student assessments.
- Ensure adherence to DDU-GKY and BSDM training guidelines.
- Submit monthly progress reports and feedback to the project coordinator.
9. Student Motivation & Retention
- Encourage students to complete the training program and apply their skills effectively.
- Address student concerns and provide mentorship for career growth.
- Organize confidence-building sessions to enhance student engagement.
10. Coordination with Placement & Center Teams
- Work closely with the Placement Officer and Center Manager to ensure job opportunities for students.
- Provide student performance insights to match them with suitable employers.
- Participate in placement drives, job fairs, and industry networking events.
